Philosophy of the Department

The philosophy of the Accounting program is to develop ethical and technically proficient accounting professionals who can meet the demands of modern business environments. Our curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills in financial reporting, auditing, taxation, and management accounting.

We emphasize professional integrity, analytical thinking, and technological proficiency in accounting systems. The program prepares graduates for professional certifications while fostering the critical thinking skills needed for strategic decision-making in diverse organizational contexts.

Objectives Admission Requirement
(UTME)  
Minimum of five credits at Ordinary Level in GCE, SSCE, or equivalent examinations. Credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two other relevant subjects. Combinations from WAEC/NECO at not more than two sittings are acceptable.
UTME subjects: Mathematics, Economics, and any other Social Science or Commercial subject
Successful completion of Obong University's post-UTME screening and interview
Direct Entry  
Two Advanced Level Passes in Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics plus credits at Ordinary Level as specified above
OND/HND in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or related fields with minimum Upper Credit
ICAN ATS or ACCA Foundation level qualification
