B.sc Economics.

Philosophy of the Department

The philosophy of the Economics program is to develop analytical thinkers who understand economic principles and can apply them to real-world challenges. Our curriculum combines theoretical foundations with quantitative methods to prepare students for diverse careers in both public and private sectors.

We emphasize critical analysis of economic systems, policy evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making. The program aims to produce graduates who can contribute to Nigeria's economic development, understand global economic interdependencies, and pursue advanced studies in economics and related fields.

"The ideas of economists and political philosophers... are more powerful than is commonly understood."

— John Maynard Keynes
